From the bottom to the podium: great showdown in Most

Just come back from the summer vacation and it’s already a heart-stopping restart in the fourth round of the European Nascar Whelen Euro Series Championship, on stage among the green mountains of the Czech Republic. Autodrom Most proves once again a difficult and full of pitfalls stage for Double V Racing.

A track surrounded by greenery, nestled between the gentle mountains of the Czech Republic, where the climate is mild but the asphalt, rather, is very hot.

Great welcome for Patrick Schober, already a protagonist on Thursday, in the autograph session organized in the city center of Most, where many fans were able to have postcards and gadgets autographed by the EuroNASCAR drivers.

A sweet prelude to an intense racing weekend that awaits the team and the Ford Mustang #27, which arrived with “waxed” livery after the hard blows suffered in Vallelunga. The goal is to confirm Schober in the Top 10 and try to grab that Rookie podium, which many times has only been cherished.

Round 7

The race weekend gets off to a decidedly uphill start, a brake problem affects free practice and qualifying, and Schober’s time trial is worth an almost unexpected P13. The whole team works hard on the car and staying up late, but we want to give Patrick the car in the best condition.

The first race of the weekend starts well, after only 4 corners Schober has already recovered 4 positions, it’s P9. Then, however, came the cold shower. Brakes problem persists again, the Mustang goes off the track and impacts the protective barriers. Another night of work awaits Double V Racing.

Round 8

The accident in race 1 forced the Ford Mustang #27 to start from the last place on the starting grid. The car is fixed at the last minute by the Double V mechanics: a lot of hard work on the bodywork and braking system, but the car is finally ready for race 2. Schober finally find the right feeling, the brakes are ok, the comeback can begin.  Already in the first lap Patrick gains 3 positions but the safety car immediately comes out due to an accident in the middle of the group. At the restart, the Austrian driver confirms himself as a specialist and puts in a couple of opponents, the Top-10 is closer.

Another accident brings the safety back, but Schober is on fire and in the last laps he comes back again until a fantastic overtaking on Malcharek in the last corner of the last lap, conquering, also accomplices 2 penalties to Hezemans and Pontinen, an amazing P7 and the first Rookie podium.
